Jenny Gil Sousa holds a PhD in Cultural Studies from the University of Aveiro, a master’s degree in Art and Education from the Aberta University, and a degree in Socio-Educational Animation with a specialization in Local Development from the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra. She is a professor at the School of Education and Social Sciences of the Polytechnic University of Leiria, an integrated researcher at CICS. NOVA. IPLeiria and a collaborating researcher at CI&DEI and the Centre for Languages, Literatures and Cultures. She has written several articles and book chapters, particularly on community development, non-formal education, social intervention, education and accessibility, aging, leisure, culture, sociocultural and artistic animation, and cultural studies.
